The Write Author

From Spark to Story and
Draft to Done in 90Days

Great! You can write

50k in 30 days.
But then what?

NaNoWriMo was great for inspiring bursts of words to create a novel. But there was no support when the month was over.

You were left with a draft collecting dust.

Introducing your structured solution:

Write. Rest. Revise.

This is your 3-step system to move from spark to story AND draft to done in just 90 days.

Your 90 Day Author's Journey

Write. Rest. Revise.

Phase I

Write (30 Days)

Goal: Complete Your First Draft
(50K+ Words)

This is a focused high-accountability daily sprint, perfect for kickstarting momentum or capitalizing on your previous NaNoWriMo success. Focus on drafting 1,667 words daily without fear of imperfection.

  • Key Focus: Habit Stacking, Daily Word Count Tracking, Overcoming Drafting Friction.

  • Result: A completed, messy, beautiful first draft. 50,000+ words that lead you to "the end" of your story and the proof of your passion: you are a writer!

Phase II
Rest (30 Days)

Goal: Objective Distance and Revision Prep

Revision is impossible without objective distance. This essential, mandatory break is where your subconscious does the heavy lifting, preventing the common post-sprint burnout. We train your "reader eye" to diagnose structural flaws.

  • Key Focus: Mental Recovery, Diagnostic Training Lab, Cultivating the Reader's Eye.

  • Result: A fully refreshed perspective, the professional reviewer's toolkit, and the ability to apply precise, bias-free critique to your own work.

Phase III

Revise (30 Days)

Goal: Execute a Strategic Second Draft

This phase turns aimless editing into a series of targeted sprints. Each module breaks down a specific revision skill, from fixing sagging middles and auditing character arcs to tightening dialogue and elevating sensory details.

  • Key Focus: Structural Fixes, Pacing Correction, Character Connection, Dialogue Polish, Scene Revision Strategy.

  • Result: A professional-quality second draft ready for a complete Manuscript Review.

A Novel Solution for Your Novel Problem

Who This is For

Newbies

You're a writer without a book and you're tired of hiding behind fear and shame.

NaNoWriMo Participants

You've written with NaNoWriMo before and you were devastated to hear they closed down.

Writers and Authors

You struggle to get the spark, fear Imposter Syndrome, or don't know what to do when the story is done.

ABOUT Your Book and Editing Coach

I've been there. I've done it. I've written the short stories and ignored the call to be a novelist. I've cringed at hearing me call myself a writer, even though my works had been published.

And then one day, I joined NaNoWriMo. And I wrote my first novel. And then my next. And another one after that. I discovered it was really easy for me to write a novel in a month. And do it every year.

It was even easy to call myself a writer that way.

But then I started feeling guilty about the digital dust that settled on my stories. I realized that NaNoWriMo was great for the spark, but not for the fire. Without the next steps, those books weren't going to go anywhere.

I needed structure and support. That is where NaNoWriMo failed. And where we succeed. Together. Write. Rest. Revise.

Testimonials About Rebecca E. Schmuck

What Other Writers are Saying

From the Dedication of A Journey into the Himalayas: Flannel, Flights and Footprints by Pirela L. Cross:

"To Rebecca E. Schmuck For your unwavering support, keen editorial eye, and relentless pursuit of clarity.
You read, reread, edited, re-edited, and hunted down errors with the precision of a literary sleuth. More than that, you helped me become a better writer. This book would not be the same without you."

"I entrusted the manuscript of my newest book to Rebecca E. Schmuck for feedback as a beta reader, the last step before publication. She did a great job of proofreading, finding some errors I had missed despite reading it dozens of times. More importantly, she was able to offer observations about the overall structure and organization of the book as well as the emotional impact, letting me see the effect my work might have on readers in the general public. Rebecca's critique helped me to understand what in the story was working—and fix what wasn’t. I was able to go back and see my work through her eyes in making those critical, final edits. I highly recommend Rebecca and The Write Author to anyone seeking editing, proofreading, or general feedback."

The French Court: Essays from One Family’s Legacy of Mental Illness
(also acknowledged by the author in the Acknowledgments section)

I really appreciated Rebecca's help shifting my focus to weekly goals when I couldn't hit my daily. She made my target seem manageable and I actually got my book done! Her insights from her Manuscript Review Services were brilliant and made the revision process so much easier. I can't wait to publish my first book!

What Else Do You Need To Know About Write. Rest. Revise.?

You Ask, I Answer!

When does the Write. Rest. Revise. group program start, and how long does my access last?

The 90-day program officially begins on November 1st, 2025.

Curriculum Access: Your access to the core Write. Rest. Revise. course materials (all lessons, videos, and downloads) is lifetime.

You can use the curriculum anytime to launch a new writing cycle.

Community & Live Access: Access to The Writers' Forge (including live sprints, forums, and direct support) runs for three full calendar months, with all live community access concluding on January 31st, 2026. If you choose the Founding Membership, your access continues as long as your membership is active.

What happens if I fall behind?

We have daily and weekly goals to help you stay on track. If you fall behind, remember that your curriculum access is perpetual, so you can always revisit the lessons. For the current cohort, contact Rebecca and we'll see what needs to be done to get you back where you need to be within the 90-day sprint.

What happens if I need to temporarily pause my writing journey?

The Write. Rest. Revise. Program is designed as an intense, 90-day sprint. I understand life happens. If you need to take a break due to unforeseen circumstances, remember this key distinction: Your access to the Core Write. Rest. Revise. Curriculum (all lessons, videos, and downloads) is lifetime. You can pick up where you left off later.

Your access to
The Writers' Forge (which includes the live community, sprints, and direct support) remains continuous for the full 90 days. To ensure your success within the 90-day cohort, if you fall behind, I will personally work with you to create a clear plan to catch up or adapt your schedule. The program fee covers your enrollment for the full 90-day period regardless of personal usage, so payments must continue as scheduled.

I changed my mind. Can I get a refund?

Due to the immediate, comprehensive access you receive to the complete Write. Rest. Revise. Core Curriculum (all lessons, videos, and downloads) and the 3-Step Prep Plan at the time of purchase, we generally do not offer refunds.

Once the course materials are delivered and access is granted, the value has been received, and we cannot guarantee the files have not been downloaded or saved. This policy is in place to protect the copyrighted material you have been entrusted with.

If you have any questions or concerns about the program's fit before purchasing, please reach out to us at [email protected] or schedule a clarity call here: Schedule a Quick Chat!

Is my math correct? If I join The Writers' Forge, I can get 6 months of access, plus the Write. Rest. Revise program for only $210 (if I am lucky enough to become one of The First Fourteen), or only $294 with the founding member rate. Why would I pay $299 for only 3 months' access?

The Founding Member option is clearly the best value because it locks in your lowest rate for life and ensures the continuity needed for lasting habit change, moving beyond the 90 days. I offer the Standalone option for those who truly only want the curriculum and the flexibility of a one-time purchase that includes perpetual access to the core course materials.

What happens to my access if I cancel my membership in The Writers' Forge?

Your status as a Founding Member locks in your low rate for life, but if you decide to cancel your recurring payments for The Writers' Forge community after your required 6-month commitment, here is what happens:

Curriculum Access: You will keep lifetime access to the Write. Rest. Revise. Core Curriculum (all lessons, videos, and downloads). That course is yours forever.

Community Access: You will lose access to The Writers' Forge community features, including the forums, live sprints, weekly Q&As, guest expert talks, and all other member-exclusive bonuses (like the Power Hour and Muse Minutes).

Founding Member Status: Your Founding Member status will be surrendered, and you will not be able to rejoin The Writers' Forge at that low, locked-in rate.

Can I find out more about The Writers' Forge?

Of course! Click here for the full details.

What are the Terms and Conditions for the Write. Rest. Revise. program?

Click here for the full terms and conditions of Write. Rest. Revise.

Do you guarantee I will finish my book and/or publish it?

As much as I would love to guarantee it, I can't commit for your role in the program. It's up to you to do the work. But if you follow the program, you can accomplish finishing your first draft and revising a second one.

The Choice is Yours!

You're ready to go from spark to story and draft to done. The only question that remains is how committed are you to your craft?
